Perfect packing is the foundation of a successful move. Although it may seem tedious and strenuous to pack everything into boxes, it will save you frustration when it comes time to start your next chapter.
Black Label Moving Co. trucks will transport your belongings. You’ll need to follow our detailed packing guide. This guide will show you the easiest methods to move small items like books, clothes, lamps, and kitchenware. Our instructional videos will show you how to move your items seamlessly.
Books
To prevent spine damage, lay books flat in the box. Small boxes are best for books as they can quickly become heavy. You can probably fit more books in a large box, but it may be difficult to move the box.
If you have extra space, fill it with small paperbacks. Or, add small delicate items.
Recommended Materials: Small and Medium Packing Boxes.
Clothing
Wardrobe boxes with a bar for hanging clothes are the easiest way to move clothes. Hang clothes straight from your closet to the wardrobe boxes using hangers. You can also pack shoes at the bottom. You can pack clothing in drawers in flat wardrobe boxes or regular boxes.
Recommended Materials: Wardrobes and Packing Boxes.
Kitchenware
The heart of a home is its kitchen. It also houses some of your most delicate items.
Wrap items individually in bubble wrap, or inkless newsprint sheets, to prevent damage. Between each bowl and plate, place layers of cushioning.
You can fill the top with inkless, crumpled newsprint. You should not use printed newspapers as they could stain your china. Protect your china and glassware with partitions and pads.
Recommended Materials: Dishes and Glass Pack Boxes. Newsprint. Bubble Wrap.
Lamps
Let there be light! If possible, remove all lightbulbs and harps before packing lamps. After unpacking, assemble them.
You should always box lampshades separately using plenty of bubble wrap and blank, inkless newsprint sheets.
For maximum protection, pack lamps upright.
Suggested Materials: Lamp Boxes, Newsprint, Bubble Wrap.
